Company History

Prior to having started On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C., Michael Frieder, a Tallahassee native, became the Chief Operations Officer of another local Tallahassee company Ucompass.com Inc. at age 18. Michael worked literally back to back with company CEO Edward Mansouri for over two years helping to develop the company into one of the top players in the online education market. Having watched Mr. Mansouri develop his fledgling company into a major power house, Michael learned about the work ethic needed to grow a small company into a giant success story. At age 19, Michael's true interests began to diverge from the company's direction and it quickly became apparent that he needed to follow his true passion in life which was computer repair. Michael had loved playing with computers and repairing them since literally the age of 6. When it began to become apparent that Ucompass Inc. would not be a long term answer to his passion for computer repair he began planning what would become On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. at the age of 19.



After 5 years, On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C., has grown to 10 employees, over 600 clients, and continues to grow at a steady and consistent rate.

On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. is no over night success, however, what the company is trying to do is no overnight task. It is seeking to improve the standards and expectations of an entire industry while continuing to be innovative in it's approach and continue expansion into new markets.

Company Mission and Goals:

Mission Statement: Our mission is to keep our clients productive by servicing their technology needs with extreme speed and professionalism while providing the best service experience possible.

Company Goals:

1. Our core goal is to never be beyond reach to the small business owner/entrepreneur.
2. Raise the bar in what is expected of an IT company in the categories of service, quality of work, and technological capability.
3. To bring many of the services, quality standards, and technological capabilities more commonly found in IT companies that service only medium and large sized clients to the residential, micro, and small business clients we service.
4. To continue to be the most affordable solution possible while constantly improving our service, quality of work, and technological capability.
5. To be the best IT Company there is for residential, micro, small, and medium sized business clients.
6. To begin franchising our computer repair and technology consulting division nationwide while growing all of our other divisions in a corporate headquarters located in Tallahassee, Florida.
7. To some time in the next 10-12 years take the company public.

How do we do it? The answer is that we do things very differently from the traditional IT company by thinking and acting big for our micro, small, and medium sized business clients:

Our approach is simply unlike anyone else's approach. We look to major cities and vast metropolitan areas on a regular basis to find out what the new trends are in IT and what the most successful large IT companies are doing to help their big business clients. Then we take those ideas and find a way to scale them down to a point where they are affordable for our micro, small, and medium sized business clients here in Tallahassee. This allows us to provide unique value added services that other companies just can't match. In addition we take a proactive approach to IT by working with our clients to manage risk in their systems in order to prevent problems instead of waiting for them to happen and then reacting. This approach dramatically increases productivity for any micro, small, or medium sized business while saving them money!

Local Involvement

Having been a chamber member since the age of 20, Michael attributes the majority of his company's local success to his involvement in the chamber so early on. Many of it's members have been personal mentors to Michael and having been so young and inexperienced when he joined, the chamber itself has been like an extended family both personally and to his business. Literally, without involvement in the Chamber, On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. would not be what it is today, and Michael would not be the person that he has become.

This year with the chamber is very special for Michael as On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. has been recognized as a nominee for the 2008 Small Business Excellence Awards.

Michael and On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. heavily supports local business and also does a great deal of local charity work. Examples of ongoing contributions to Tallahassee include:

1. The computers for charity program: Year round we take in used computers that are still capable of running current day technology and refurbish these machines for various charities. We do this year-round and often many of our own clients are the donors. The employees of On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. do this refurbishing during the normal business day and use parts out of inventory at our cost to ensure that the computers that leave our office are in perfect working order and have everything they need to go back into use once donated.
   
   Our procedure for donation is that any non-profit organization may request computers from us and we donate them as they become available. If there is ever a time when we do not have charities lined up, we anonymously donate them to goodwill in most cases.
   
   In many cases the computers that we get in to donate are those of our clients who have bought new computers from us.
   
   
2. On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. also donates to local charities on a regular basis in the form of cash donations and the donation of service hour gift certificates for use in charity auctions and door prizes. Some of the events that have been sponsored in the past include the PACE Center For Girls golf tournament, The American Cancer Society's Asthma Walk, and Jazz For Justice.
   
   
3. On Call Computer Solutions L.L.C. also does a great deal of Pro bono work for various charities in our area. Last year alone we donated over $10,000 in service hours and equipment and are working towards donating even more this year.

The Future

So what does the future hold? For the rest of 2008 we will be implementing our new "proactive" brand strategy and continue to grow as much as we can in Tallahassee. In 2009 we will continue our local growth and look to expand into new geographic markets, potentially starting in Pensacola and Jacksonville before the end of 2009. If all goes well we will be in every major Florida City by the end of 2010.
